John, Christmas just came early for members of Congress who don’t want to do their jobs. Why?
Because Nancy Pelosi just extended proxy voting through the end of the year.
That means members of Congress can vote on bills while sitting on their couch at home halfway across the country.
This rule started as a temporary safeguard at the start of the pandemic. Now that life is back to normal, there’s no reason why politicians should be allowed to skip work while our country faces an inflation crisis, a supply chain crisis, and a border crisis. More than 80 members of Congress were nowhere to be found in Washington last week while the “infrastructure” bill was being voted on.
This is the case every time a major issue is on the table.
If they don’t want to show up for work, they should start looking for a new job –– because we need leaders to show up for America now more than ever.
Thank you, Mike Gallagher
