Friend --
If you've watched Schoolhouse Rock -- heck, if you've lived through the last decade -- you know what a big deal the new bipartisan infrastructure law is.
It had to get through committees. Survive negotiations within and between both parties. Win at least 60 votes in the Senate (it got 69) and at least 218 votes in the House (it got 228, including mine).
Presidents and Congresses have been trying to pass infrastructure packages like this for a generation. This time, we succeeded.
We succeeded because enough voters like you supported candidates like me, who still believe in listening and bipartisanship and live those values every day. So today, will you invest in continued progress by chipping in to our campaign before our deadline, midnight Wednesday?
Here's some of what's coming to Minnesota as part of the infrastructure deal:
- $4.5 billion for highways
- $302 million for bridges
- $818 million for public transportation
- $100 million for broadband internet
- $68 million for electric vehicle charging stations
Not from Minnesota? Your state is getting funds for these things, too!
The infrastructure bill was just the start of historic progress: Last week, House Democrats also came together to pass the Build Back Better Act. When it passes the Senate, it'll mean bold investments in our kids, our climate, and our future.
With these accomplishments behind us, I want us all to have a peaceful, relaxing Thanksgiving. That's why we're setting our November end-of-month fundraising deadline earlier than usual -- and why I'm personally asking you to chip in now.
If everyone contributes $25 before midnight Wednesday, we'll be in great shape heading into 2022. Not everyone is able to chip in at this time, so if you are, I hope you'll consider leveling up your contribution, even just this once:
If you've saved payment information with ActBlue Express, your donation will go through immediately
America is investing in infrastructure -- investing in itself -- because Americans like you invested in bipartisan-minded candidates like me. Thanks for keeping the faith. Here's to more progress ahead.
With gratitude,
Dean
