Hello John,
We are pleased to share with you a new Personally Speaking blog by Kathy Day, a caregiver for an adult family member with SMI, community advocate and our new senior family liaison.
When her loved one had his first psychotic episode more than 11 years ago, and was diagnosed with schizophrenia, Kathy knew almost nothing about the disorder or the barriers to treatment they would face as a family.
After discovering Treatment Advocacy Center, she no longer felt helpless or alone.
“The staff have educated me about the legislative process and equipped me with the skills that help me to better advocate for my family member and make my voice heard,” Kathy writes.

We’re honored to have helped train Kathy to become an effective advocate for her loved one. Policymakers need to hear stories like hers – and yours – if we are to fix our broken mental health care system.
Please help us educate other community advocates and lift up their voices. Donate to Treatment Advocacy Center today and #makethemhearyou!
Thank you for your invaluable support of our mission.
