** In spite of the outcome we remain a viable alternative
------------------------------------------------------------
Dear PPC Members, Volunteers and Sponsors,

Thank you all for your support and involvement in our Kootenay-Columbia election campaign to elect a PPC representative to Ottawa. Together, we share the vision of a better Canada and a belief in PPC Policies, but unfortunately our efforts did not result in the outcome we hoped for locally or nationally. Given the election results its important that we focus on our a accomplishments, rather than a failure to retain and capture additional seats in the House of Commons.

With the loss of Maxime’s seat, we still obtained 1.6% of the popular vote across Canada and 2.0% locally. That is a stunning accomplishment in only 12 months for a national party and it’s important to note that our vote in all ridings across Canada was very consistent, unlike the major parties that show strong regional preferences. We have established a national presence and have a solid platform for a unified and prosperous country that compels other parties to consider us, whether it’s acknowledged or not.

We had little time to form a local riding association, register with Elections Canada and mount an effective election campaign while overcoming organizational pains and a lack of funding. Thanks to all of you we did it in less than 11 months since our first meeting of interested members in late November of last year.

Unfortunately, our progress was limited by a well-funded and organized effort to slander the PPC with hired guns from other parties and assistance of a complicit media funded with our own tax dollars. This was further compounded by a rejection of post boosting on social media and outright censorship of our presence at some debates. PPC headquarters is currently pursuing an investigation of the Kinsella matter with the Commissioner of Elections Canada and further discussions with the reporter who broke the story. Legal action may result.

In spite of this, we are determined to offer the Canadian electorate a viable alternative to those disaffected with “politics as usual” and we will only grow stronger over the coming months and years. Your local EDA board will stay active while we reconcile our campaign accounts and obtain closure with Elections Canada. With the stability of our minority government in doubt, your EDA will immediately begin reorganizing for another campaign and plan to hold our AGM for April of 2020 during which we will re-elect our board, hear from members and discuss PPC initiatives and activities. Prior to the meeting, you will be invited to attend and asked for your input.

During the last few hectic months I’ve been proud to carry the PPC message and represent all of you as your Candidate in the 2019 election campaign. I thank you again with all sincerity for your support and a successful campaign and remain committed to supporting our party and future campaigns to the best of my ability.

Sincerely,

Rick Stewart
