Contact Your Senators Today in Support of Lasting Investment in America's Next Generation |
Earlier today, the U.S. House of Representatives passed the Build Back Better Act (H.R. 5376), which marks major progress towards securing historic investment in our nation’s youngest children and their families.
The Act contains $400 billion in new federal investment for child care and pre-K and additional investment in the health and economic well-being of families through paid family and medical leave, expanded health coverage for children and pregnant people during the critical prenatal and postpartum periods, and expansion of the Child Tax Credit. These investments represent an unprecedented opportunity to build a system of early care and education that works for young children and their families.
But our work does not end here: the Build Back Better Act must now undergo additional negotiations and pass in the U.S. Senate before returning to the House for a final vote. As critical discussions take place in the days ahead, we encourage you to use the First Five Years Fund Action Center to call or write to your Senators today to urge them to move quickly to pass this major investment in the infrastructure that supports American families.
