Dear John, As we reflect on all that we have to be thankful for this season, our supporters are right at the top of the list. Your generous financial support makes it possible for Equality Virginia to exist, which means that we are able to educate and advocate for LGBTQ equality in every corner of the state. You are the reason we are celebrating many accomplishments this year, like: - We passed eleven pro-equality bills including: modernizing outdated HIV criminalization laws, banning the so-called “LGBTQ panic defense,” affirming the right to marry, establishing an LGBTQ+ Advisory Board, protecting LGBTQ elders, and recognizing diverse family structures.
- We educated and mobilized thousands of community members through virtual programming, such as the Bagel and Bills series, Legislative Lunch-and-Learns, Transgender Advocacy Speakers Bureau events, and the annual Transgender Information and Empowerment Summit (TIES).
- We empowered transgender and non-binary students, parents, and allies to show up and support the VDOE model policies for transgender students. Their stories helped to influence local school boards to adopt needed policies to keep students safe across Virginia.

Turn shopping online at Amazon into a donation for EV: We encourage everyone to shop locally at LGBTQ-owned businesses, but for those of you who shop online, we are set up in the AmazonSmile program. Donate to EV by going to smile.amazon.com, clicking on “Your Account,” and selecting “Change your Charity.” |

Get groceries for a cause: Scan your Kroger Plus card every time you pick up groceries, and, at no cost to you, EV will earn bonus cash! All you have to do is sign in or create an account. Once signed in, you can enroll or update your Community Rewards to EV under your Account Settings. |

Matching gift through work: Do you already give to EV? Sometimes double, or even triple, your support through your employer’s matching gifts program. Many private employers, federal, state and local governments all offer payroll deduction opportunities. Ask your human resources department if they offer a matching gift program. |
