This is my story
Dear John,
It was 1969 when abortion wasn't legal.
It was terrifying, painful, and done in a hotel room. I wasn't damaged but could easily have been. I was traumatized, as much by the secrecy as by the physical pain.
My unwanted pregnancy threatened my future. It threatened my physical and mental wellbeing. The decision to end it wasn't an easy one, but if I'd had a baby at 21, I'd never have finished school, become a therapist, gotten married and had my two much-loved children.
Now I'm scared again, John. Not for myself, but for young people who can become pregnant across this country.

That's why I've set a goal to raise $10,000. I'm rallying everyone to help me fund the NOW Foundation's work. They have been fighting this fight for me, for you, and for our daughters and granddaughters since 1986. I didn't think we'd still need to fight for our reproductive rights. But we do.
When feminists work together and make our voices heard, we can change things for the better.
While we've made progress since I first came to the movement, it's not enough. With everything at stake in Texas and so many other states and a conservative super majority on the Supreme Court, access to safe and legal abortion is in extreme jeopardy and I want to do more.
