We can flip the Texas AG seat blue in 2022, friend.
The GOP primary for Texas’ Attorney General is heating up, and one thing is certain, friend: None of these Republicans should be anywhere near statewide office.
The current incumbent, indicted Republican AG Ken Paxton, has been downright dangerous during his tenure in office. He’s been investigated by the State Bar of Texas for his role in attempting to overturn the 2020 election, and he’s defended harmful legislation on everything from voting rights to reproductive rights. And, friend, the other candidates running aren’t much better (or any less pro-Trump).
The most recent candidate to throw their hat in the ring is Texas Congressman Louie Gohmert, another far-right, pro-Trump loyalist who has repeatedly spread lies about the January 6th insurrection. Gohmert was just endorsed by Arizona Congressman Paul Gosar… Yes, the same Paul Gosar who was just censured by the House of Representatives for promoting a video that depicted violence against President Joe Biden and Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez.
These Republicans are dangerous, but we have a chance to keep them out of power in next year’s midterms. We need a slate of strong Dem AGs who will invest in our communities, and fight for real progress on every issue. But we need your help to make that happen.
Democratic AGs truly are “The People’s Lawyers” and DAGA is the only party committee devoted to electing more of them. Since 2016, we’ve won two-thirds of our targeted races, and with more than 30 AG seats up for grabs in 2022, we need your support – will you chip in today?
