On Friday, Pramila helped carry the transformative Build Back Better Act over the finish line in the House. It was a historic vote that delivers on the promises that Democrats made to invest in working people, families, and communities across America. And it wouldn’t have happened without Pramila’s leadership.
Because of her organizing and our movement’s nonstop work, we won a slew of key progressive policies in the Build Back Better Act — like affordable child care, Medicare expansion, universal pre-K, paid leave, unprecedented action on climate change, lower prescription prices, housing, and much more.
We must step back and acknowledge how hard our grassroots movement fought to pass the Build Back Better Act in the House. We’ve been up against powerful interests — from Wall Street and Big Oil to Big Pharma — yet we managed to hold the line and deliver for the people because of Pramila’s leadership.
