John,

When I ran for Mayor, I promised we would reverse a decades-long trend of disinvestment in our neighborhoods, particularly on our South and West Sides. Over the last two years, we have used the power of city government to do just that.

I am proud to be celebrating the two-year anniversary of INVEST South/West, my unprecedented revitalization strategy for our long-neglected West and South Side communities.

Launched in fall of 2019, we're marking the initiative's two-year anniversary with an additional $126 million for community improvements. I am especially proud that the revitalization initiative has generated a total of $1.4 billion in investment commitments for 10 South and West Side communities.

Will you help us continue making progress by pitching in anything you can right now?

These critical investments are helping us reverse Chicago's typical top-down neighborhood planning by involving community members in choosing the types of investments and businesses they would like to see in their communities.

This is not just my mission. I've heard from community leaders, unions, advocacy organizations, and everyday Chicagoans who understand that we must invest in and uplift every neighborhood in order for us all to thrive.

If we want to build on this success and have the greatest impact possible come next election, we need to make early investments now. Please consider supporting our groundbreaking progress by making a contribution today >>
