Hey John,

I hope this note finds you well and you are enjoying the beginning of the holiday season with your loved ones. I've had a busy couple of weeks here and I want to take a moment to update you on some of the highlights.

Earlier this month, I announced my plan to completely Axe the Food tax. I went to grocery stores in Leavenworth and Wichita to shop with a couple of moms to talk about what eliminating the food tax could mean for their families. Under my plan to Axe the Food Tax a family of four would save on average $500 dollars a year. That’s extra money that could instead go to things like school supplies, gas, or electricity bills.

My food tax plan is a win-win for Kansas.

I also traveled to Linwood to award nearly $10 million dollars to Linwood and other communities across the state for transportation projects. These projects will repair and modernize our roads, our bridges, our pedestrian and transit infrastructure.

I stopped by Manhattan to visit the Kansas Department of Agriculture’s labs. Their labs provide essential services to our agriculture industry -- like testing milk samples or inspecting meat or poultry products. I got a behind-the-scenes look at all the hard work our employees do to keep our food and ag industry safe.

I went to Leavenworth to join their 102nd annual Veterans Day Parade and honor all of those who have served our country.

Next week, I’ll be in Topeka for a special session in the state legislature. I am hopeful that we will be able to work together and quickly to make progress that will help the people of Kansas.

I'm fighting for all Kansans. And even as things get busy this holiday season, I won’t be slowing down. I am grateful you are still with me as we get closer to the 2022 election. But before I go, I have a favor to ask: We're facing a critical end-of-month deadline on November 30. Will you chip in before then?

Thank you,

Laura
