John, in our movement, no one gets left behind.
But as COVID-19 continues to spread across the country through the highly infectious Delta variant, our undocumented community continues to fall through the cracks — especially as corporate America pretends the pandemic is already over.
An estimated 4 in 5 undocumented immigrants who work in essential jobs are at higher risk of catching COVID-19. And they're more likely to feel economic consequences if they get sick or need to get a shot — because they fear that missing work and reaching out for help will result in detention or deportation.
Regardless of your race, gender, socioeconomic, or residency status — we must show up for our community. That’s why the Sunrise Dallas and New Orleans hubs are continuing to support undocumented immigrants and marginalized groups who have been affected by the COVID-19 pandemic and economic crisis.
Ahead of a busy holiday season, we’re hoping to raise $10,000 in support of undocumented volunteers. So John, can you chip in $10 — or any amount you can afford — to the Green New Deal Mutual Aid Fund today? Your support, no matter how small, can make the difference between someone having a roof over their heads or having food on the table:
Donate to the GND Mutual Aid Fund »
100% of your contribution will support an undocumented volunteer who has a family to support and can’t meet the monthly bills. It will support someone who has emergency medical bills, has lost their job, or has had hours reduced. Your support is direct mutual aid to fulfill these needs.
Many of us are struggling to get by. If you can’t spare money, spare a couple of minutes and share the GoFundMe page on social media to get the word out and help the Sunrise Dallas and New Orleans hubs support undocumented volunteers.
The only way out of the crises we face is through deep love and solidarity. Thank you for giving whatever you can afford today.
