We wrote to you earlier this week about Florida GOP Gov. Ron DeSantis' plan to suppress the votes of older women across the state. The Maddow Blog reports that DeSantis “doesn't believe drop-boxes should exist anywhere in the state” despite the fact that millions of Americans of all ages—especially women ages 60 and over—find it safer and easier to vote from home. DeSantis' goals to “beef up the state's voting laws,” disproportionately negatively impact Democratic women over the age of 60.
And now, POLITICO reports that in a wild power grab, DeSantis just demanded a special legislative session to pass dangerous anti-COVID legislation because, "What Gov. Ron DeSantis wants, he gets."
