FROM THE FRONTLINES
What happens when public lands and waters are auctioned off to dirty industry?
The Biden administration has just offered more than 80 million acres in the Gulf of Mexico for lease to the fossil fuel industry. This is one of many lease sales federal agencies conduct on public lands and waters through the federal fossil fuel program. These lease sales lock us into decades of fossil fuel extraction and skyrocketing emissions. Read more: [link removed]
The Donlin gold mine jeopardizes a way of life for Alaska Native Tribes
“The Kuskokwim River is our table, and it feeds our people throughout the year. HOW YOU CAN HELP
We need to stop auctioning off public lands and waters to fossil fuel development
25% of U.S. carbon dioxide emissions come from fossil fuels extracted on federal lands and waters that belong to people living across the U.S. It’s time to end federal fossil fuel leasing. Every investment we make now must advance an equitable and just transition to clean energy.
