Dear John, here's the latest from our network this month.
Dear John
We love a bit of feedback here. So I'd like to do a quick temperature take before getting on to this month's news. It's just one question: which of these issues would you be most likely to take action on tomorrow?
Since launching our Climate Action network earlier this year we've had over 100 groups spring up around the UK. Made up of people just like you, the groups campaign on climate issues that affect their area – after all, who would know better than the locals?
It's Halloween and one of the scariest things about today is the amount of plastic waste it generates. So this year, skip the plastic pumpkin and go for a real one instead – not only will you have fun carving it, but you can eat the flesh too!
National treasure Sir David Attenborough is back on our TV screens. His new documentary series explores the seven continents and looks at the impact us humans have had on the planet.
Get ready for the UK's largest annual tree celebration. Marking the start of the winter tree planting season, National Tree Week is a great opportunity for communities to do something positive for their area.
How do you weigh a tree without cutting it down? In episode 1 of our new 5-part series with historian Dan Snow, you'll find the answer to that question (and much more besides).
