Hi team,

House Democrats just passed the Build Back Better Initiative. It means extending the child tax credit that is already slashing the childhood poverty rate, expanding access to universal pre-K, tackling the immediate threat of climate change and cutting the price of prescription medication.

It is a very big deal. Our Rep. John Yarmuth has played a huge role in its success. But Mitch McConnell has already said that he’s firmly opposed.

That is what is at stake. I’ve been the progressive state senator in Mitch McConnell’s backyard here in Kentucky and I’m running for Congress to push back against his damaging agenda every step of the way in DC.

It’s why it is all the more important that this seat stays blue. It’s simple. This key legislation passed by just a handful of votes. Mitch is going to do everything he can to kill it in the Senate.

We need that sort of integrity in Congress, and we know Morgan will make sure our voices are heard.

I’ve spent my career taking on the Trump-Bevin Republicans in Frankfort and I’ll do the same with the McConnell obstructionism in Washington.
