“Dr. Oz is serious about running for the Senate”

John, have you heard that former Donald Trump advisor Dr. Oz is considering running for U.S. Senate in Pennsylvania? Well, now there are reports that he’s making real preparations to build a campaign.

This is not the doctor we need in the U.S. Senate.

For years, Dr. Oz has been more interested in building a celebrity brand than helping patients. In fact, he’s mostly been focused on pushing phony science, like magic weight loss pills, and advising President Trump. Fellow physicians have even called him out for promoting “quack treatments and cures in the interest of personal financial gain.” Sound familiar?

We’re still working to get our country out of this pandemic and rebuild our economy. We need problem solvers in Washington right now, not celebrities willing to mislead the public about medical facts to make a profit.

Val’s been a problem solver her whole life. First as a doctor in operating rooms and on the labor and delivery floor, and now as Chair of Pennsylvania’s third-largest county, where she’s secured a $15 minimum wage and paid parental leave for county employees and taken concrete action on climate change.

Dr. Oz will only make the lingering symptoms of the Trump presidency worse. Pennsylvania needs a real doctor like Val, who will always prescribe putting facts and science first and would bring much-needed perspective as the first-ever woman physician elected to the U.S. Senate.
