It’s been a week of ups and downs. Earlier this week we were pretty down hearing Devin Nunes is thinking of running against Josh. But then Josh passed the Infrastructure bill and moved Build Back Better through the House and we saw Democrats getting things done!
But Democrats passing Biden’s agenda (with a 3 seat majority) is the opposite of what Kevin McCarthy wants. One of McCarthy’s consultants even spent time directly talking about Josh this week - he said that although Republicans have no shot at electing California’s governor next fall, “can a Republican win a congressional seat in Modesto? Yeah.” He means Josh’s seat.
That’s why we’re not very shocked to see Josh on a brand new list of Democrats that McCarthy wants to defeat.
