John,
This month, the State Department announced a weapons deal with Saudi
Arabia valued at $650 million.
This sale would give Saudi Arabia 280 air-to-air missiles and 596 missile
launchers.
There is no reason why we should be selling arms to Saudi Arabia—a brutal
theocracy that oppresses its own people and has spent billions of dollars
exporting its extreme ideology around the world while committing genocide
in Yemen.
Represenative Ilhan Omar put it quite well saying, “We should never be
selling human rights abusers weapons, but we certainly should not be
doing so in the midst of a humanitarian crisis they are responsible for.
Congress has the authority to stop these sales, and we must exercise
that power.”
Ilhan is right and that’s why she has introduced a joint resolution to
block the sale of these weapons from the U.S. to Saudi Arabia.

joint resolution and end weapons deals with Saudi Arabia and all human
rights abusers?

We already know that the weapons we give to Saudi Arabia are used to
commit war crimes against Yemeni civilians.
We should not be giving them even more weapons.
Saudi Arabia’s actions caused the worst humanitarian crisis in the world,
the United States cannot continue to support a nation that has committed
so many atrocities.

deals with Saudi Arabia and all human rights abusers.
