Did you see Walt’s email? Hundreds of you have responded to Walt’s call for action and contributed to help CREW reach our July matching goal—join in here and help us reach $70,000 in matched contributions by the end of July.
Former lobbyists running agencies they used to lobby. Obstruction of investigations and disdain for the law. Failure to divest from businesses. Profiting from the presidency and numerous conflicts of interest. If you, like Walt, sometimes find yourself wanting to scream for these reasons and more, you can fight back by standing with CREW and helping us reach this goal.
We hope you’ll read Walt’s email below, and consider contributing what you can toward our $70,000 July matching challenge. Your donation will go twice as far and will immediately be put to work supporting our legal actions and investigations.

John -
The unabashed corruption. The conflicts of interest and misuses of position pervading this presidential administration. The blatant defiance of ethics laws. And most of all: the consequences that all these ethical and moral failures have for each of us, and for the people our country is turning its back on.
It’s enough to make you want to scream. If you follow me on Twitter, you know that sometimes I can hardly contain my outrage over the behavior of President Trump and his lawless administration—it’s simply wrong.
Here’s one thing that keeps me going, though, even when I’m discouraged: millions of Americans like you care deeply about protecting our democracy, and we’re fighting together to keep today’s crisis from becoming the norm.
A generous donor who knows that CREW’s work is essential to defending democracy and combating the corruption of the Trump administration is matching up to $70,000 in donations during the month of July. This is a huge opportunity for CREW, and your contribution right now will help us reach that goal—and it will go twice as far toward fighting corruption and exposing the scandals of the Trump administration.
When I was the director of the Office of Government Ethics during the early days of the Trump administration, I saw firsthand the administration’s failure to follow the ethical norms and traditions of government and, frankly, its open disdain for the principle that public service is a public trust. The defiance of every mechanism for accountability left me deeply worried, which is why I knew I had to sound the alarm. My dedicated colleagues at CREW have also been calling out President Trump’s conflicts of interest and failure to divest from his businesses since before Trump was even in office.
Because of supporters like you, CREW has been able to continue sounding the alarm, exposing wrongdoing and pushing for accountability. We truly couldn’t do it without you.
Help us keep up the pressure. If you’re able, please consider making a matched contribution now to support our legal and investigative work.
No amount is too small or too large to make a difference and, if you’re able, a small recurring monthly contribution would go even further to support this fight. We’re in this together, and it’s the fight of a lifetime. I am so grateful that CREW has been able to lead this fight—thanks to supporters like you!
Thank you again,
Walter Shaub
