The Build Back Better Act passed the House yesterday!

Thanks to the leadership of progressive champions like Rep. Katie Porter
and our 2020 Truth to Power candidates, the bill contains critical
investments for things like health care, elder care, universal pre-K, and
climate action.

But, John, this
bill only passed by a handful of votes. If Democrats hadn’t taken back the
House in 2018 and held onto our majority in 2020, this never would have
happened.

That makes 2022 all the more important. The Build Back Better Act is big,
but it’s only a first step,
John.

We’ve got to hold onto both our House and Senate majorities and elect
progressive leaders willing to fight for working people and pass critical
legislation like the Build Back Better Act.

We need to elect more Truth to Power candidates to Congress so we can pass
more legislation that benefits people—not corporations.

And we need to start preparing now for the uphill battle of defending our
Democratic majority in 2022.
