Senator Joe Manchin hasn’t committed to supporting the Build Back Better Act, even though it contains massive investments in his home state of West Virginia. West Virginians support the Build Back Better agenda. So we need to reach West Virginians and help them communicate their support straight to Sen. Manchin.
That’s why we’re taking our billboard truck to the Mountain State!
Donate $7 to keep the pressure on Joe Manchin and get the Build Back Better Act across the finish line in the Senate! Keep our billboards visible in the communities that need to see them!
Check out Alex’s email below for more on why the Build Back Better Act is so critical for seniors.

John,
This morning, the House of Representatives passed the most meaningful drug pricing reform in American history. The Build Back Better Act will ensure that no Medicare beneficiary pays more than $2000 a year for prescription drugs. The government will finally have the power to negotiate lower prices on key medications, including insulin. And pharmaceutical companies will no longer be allowed to raise their prices faster than the rate of inflation. This is the biggest defeat for Big Pharma in history―and we’re just getting started.
The action is moving to the Senate, and we’re going to need every single Democrat to stand together if we’re going to beat Big Pharma. So we’re driving our billboard trucks to West Virginia to put the pressure on Senator Joseph Manchin III. Can you chip in $7 to keep our trucks on the road?
There were 3 critical holdouts on the Build Back Better Act in the House―Josh Gottheimer, Kathleen Rice, and Scott Peters. We ran our billboards in their districts, and made sure that their constituents knew what they were up to. All 3 voted yes today. Our billboards work.
Senate Majority Leader Schumer has pledged to enact this bill by the end of the year. We’re keeping our eyes and ears on the Senate to mobilize at the slightest hint of resistance.
Here’s what else is in the Build Back Better Act the House passed today:
-
Funding for home and community-based long-term care services. This will allow more seniors and people with disabilities to stay in their homes instead of nursing homes—a starting point towards transforming our nation’s long-term care system to focus on providing care instead of generating profits.
-
Allowing Medicare to cover hearing aids and other hearing care. Two-thirds of seniors over age 70 suffer from hearing loss. When Build Back Better’s Medicare expansion goes into effect, many of them will hear their grandchildren’s voices clearly for the first time.
This legislation is historic, and it is only the beginning.
Now, we’ll make sure that the Senate passes the Build Back Better Act into law. Then, Democrats must spend the next year reminding seniors—the most reliable voters in midterm elections—of what happened this morning: Nearly every House Democrat voted to lower drug prices, expand Medicare, and fund home care, while every single House Republican voted no.
Let’s finish the job! Help ensure that EVERY Senate Democrat supports the Build Back Better Act and deal Big Pharma the biggest defeat in its history!
Thanks,
