Friends,
I am proud to share with you that yesterday, the House of Representatives passed the Build Back Better Act. This measure will provide much needed relief to workers and families across our nation.
I’ve spent months advocating for some of the key provisions of this bill that have now passed the House, including:
The extension of the expanded Child Tax Credit for one year
Hearing as a Medicare benefit
$20 billion to strengthen the ability of individuals to obtain a higher education
Increased federal resources for older Americans to receive care in their homes
Lower prescription costs through the negotiation of certain drugs under Medicare
$3 billion in capital access investments for small businesses and entrepreneurs
Critically, this bill includes provisions that will ensure that corporations and the wealthy will pay their fair share. These advancements will not come at a cost to everyday Americans.
We’re on the right track, friends, and I’m excited to continue working to deliver for Northwest Indiana.
Thank you,
