Dear Friend,
Thanksgiving is almost upon us – and I am super excited.
Why? A new arrival in America, this will be my family’s first ever Thanksgiving!
For over three hundred years, Americans have celebrated this special day – and Americans have a lot to celebrate.
My family might be joining in for the first time this year, but we will be celebrating as enthusiastically as anyone, right down to eating turkey and ham, as well as watching the Ole Miss vs Mississippi State football game afterwards.
Crumble, my dog from England,
celebrates being in America
Before signing off for Thanksgiving week, here are a few highlights I wanted to share with you:
Mississippi has underperformed economically for years because of burdensome regulations. Matthew Nicaud looks at what we need to do to change this. ([link removed])
With Washington hosing federal money around, Josiah Dalke looks at the downsides. ([link removed])
In this article for RealClearPolicy, ([link removed]) I suggest that school freedom offers conservatives are roadmap back to power.
Last but not least, I was delighted to be singled out for an attack by the ultra-progressive Guardian in the UK. My crime? I had dared to suggest that the USA is more prosperous than Europe. America is indeed more prosperous and innovative than Europe – and America is like that because she has limited government and more freedom – as I delighted in pointing out to the Guardian here. Have a wonderful Thanksgiving!
Warm Regards,
Douglas Carswell
