The latest episode of Firebrand With Matt Gaetz is available RIGHT NOW!

In Episode 16 of Firebrand, I am joined by former White House Chief of Staff Mark Meadows, who advocates for removing the 13 Republicans who support Biden’s agenda from lead committee positions, reviews the bad job performance of current House GOP leadership, and shares critical behind-the-scenes moments with President Trump.

DEMOCRATS PASS BUILD BACK WORSE

Yet again, the Democrats—“moderate” and socialists alike—have passed the “Build Back Better Act (BBB)”, in order to send it back to the Senate for a re-run. Less than 24 hours after the nonpartisan Congressional Budget Office finally released its total budget score–can’t blame ’em when a bill is 2,500 pages–the Democrats raced this bill across the finish line. Something tells me that none of these cronies read the bill in that period of time, nor reviewed its disastrous impact on the United States’ debt, the Biden LIE that it will “pay for itself,” and the continued shift in balance of power between the socialist state and its citizens. Topping-off the liberal, deep state, federal agencies with billions is nothing other than an indignant toast to The Swamp. How did we get here?

As I mentioned on War Room with Steve Bannon, thanks to impotent leadership, the Republican Party leadership has exchanged leverage over the Democrats with a surge of momentum for the Democrats. All year, the Democratic Caucus has been a complete mess. ‘Centrists’ and socialists bickering over the “required passage of the Bipartisan Infrastructure Bill (BIF) before BBB on one hand, and BBB passage in order to pass the preemptive BIF vote. This is where we, the Republican Party, had the leverage. With the thin margins of the 117th Congress, 6 Democrats voting down this bill along with the whole Republican Conference was a gift that went to waste.

From this, it is clear that the 13 defective RINOs distinctly gave the Democrats the ammo for our own execution. With 6 Democratic NO votes on BIF, there would be no momentum to pass BBB. Poor leadership failed to prevent 13 RINOs, who traded 0 Biden-Pelosi victories for 2, getting nothing in return.

This is why Kevin McCarthy’s 8 hour floor speech to delay the Thursday vote until Friday did just that. That’s right, nothing more. We still saw BBB’s passage immediately after this stunt. Poor leadership, whereas, stopping the 13 RINOs was the real task at hand, not the 8-hour political theater.

BLATANT TWO-TIERED JUSTICE SYSTEM PERMEATES THE KYLE RITTENHOUSE TRIAL

Image

I joined Grant Stinchfield on Newsmax this week to discuss the current unequal treatment of Americans in today’s criminal justice system. It’s troubling to hear the tales of double standards in the way certain individuals, like Kyle Rittenhouse, are treated compared to Antifa and other dangerous organizations that inflict widespread violence. Kyle Rittenhouse is handling this politicized trial like a champion – so much that I would love to have an individual of such strong character working in my DC office!

BIDEN REGIME IS WEAPONIZING DOJ AGAINST AMERICANS FOR POWER

On Tuesday, I joined Real America with Dan Ball on OAN to discuss the usual suspects: the House Democrats and their RINO friends, Joe Biden, Merrick Garland, and more. Specifically, they are using their perch of power to punish those who disagree with their tilted world view that parents of school children are dangerous to the United States. In reality, concerned and active parents pose a legitimate threat to Joe Biden’s regime of ignorance and failure.

REP. GAETZ: DEFENDER OF WOMEN, AGAINST FORCED ARBITRATION

Over the past several decades, forced arbitration clauses have become virtually ubiquitous in everyday contracts.  Often buried deep within the fine print of employment and consumer contracts, forced arbitration deprives millions of Americans of their day in court to enforce state and federal rights. Due to the prevalence of these clauses in employment and consumer disputes, victims of sexual violence and harassment are often unable to seek justice in a court of law, enforce their rights under state and federal legal protections, or even simply share their experiences. When an employee who is subject to a forced arbitration clause sues after being raped, assaulted, or harassed at work, the company is entitled, under the Federal Arbitration Act, to force the suit into arbitration. Similarly, a consumer who signs an arbitration clause and is assaulted by a member of the staff can be forced into an arbitration proceeding.

To bring more fairness into the system, I supported H.R. 4445, the Ending Forced Arbitration of Sexual Assault and Sexual Harassment Act in the House Judiciary Committee this week. On Tuesday, we interviewed witnesses who shared their experience with these unfair adhesion contracts. And on Wednesday, we voted the bill favorably out of the committee for a vote on the House floor.

LETTERS TO DOD: WHY ARE SO MANY VACCINE EXEMPTIONS BEING DENIED?

On Wednesday, I sent a letter to Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin over the abuse of individual liberty that continues to permeate our sacred military institutions. Aside from my perspective and many conservatives throughout the United States, that personal medical decisions should be made at the individual level, it has been my understanding that there are medical and religious vaccine exemptions that should always be respected. This is not a matter of political concern, but one  of decency and respect for the law. Moreover, I would hope that the most powerful leaders in the United States would have more respect for chaplains, ministers, and all people of faith. Denying one’s legitimate religious exemption request to abstain from getting any vaccine is simply disrespectful to their faith and a total disgrace. My letter, signed by 8 of my Republican colleagues and addressed to Secretary Austin makes it clear that it is time to respect our fellow Americans, their religious freedom, and to stop behaving like czars of health control.

Additionally, I sent another letter on Thursday to the leadership at Corry Station in Pensacola following my meeting with them about what seems to be a policy of blanket denials of vaccine exemptions. Such a policy is unacceptable and we must get to the bottom of what is happening.

DEMOCRATS ARE OBSESSED WITH REMOVING REPUBLICANS FROM COMMITTEES, ZERO ATTENTION ON THE REAL ISSUES

Image

This week, the Democrats voted to censure American First Republican member of Congress Paul Gosar (AZ-4) for posting an anime cartoon video on Twitter that they determined to be offensive. As a result of this House procedure, Rep. Gosar was removed from both the House Oversight and House Natural Resource committees. This is so absurd that I had to secure time on the House floor to express my grievances. As noted in my speech above, the Democrats need a reality check: when something occurs that you do not like in a cartoon video, it is STILL NOT real. Instead of legislating on the real issues concerning all Americans, such as the economy, Afghanistan, or the Biden open border crisis, the Democratic Party has indulged in becoming the hall monitors of Twitter and free speech in America.

AROUND THE DISTRICT

TELE-TOWN HALL

This week, I was honored to host a district tele-townhall for the wonderful and engaged people of Florida’s First District. There were many people in attendance that I had the pleasure of speaking with about today’s most critical issues in Congress, along with poll respondents, and thoughtful comments on Facebook. One of my favorite things about tele-town halls–even though they are not in person–is that I am able to get instant feedback with the polls and gauge where my constituents, who are my supervisors, think about crucial current events. Here are Tuesday’s poll results below:

1) You believe that Steve Bannon has been treated fairly?

Fairly: 20%
Unfairly: 65%
Unsure: 16%

2) Do you support the Biden Spending Plan?

Yes: 9%
No: 84%
Unsure: 7%

3) Do you support private sector vaccine mandates?
Support: 10%
Oppose: 83%
Unsure: 7%

Please tune-in, if you haven’t already because this is one of the most engaging town halls I’ve had thus far!

GOV. DESANTIS PROTECTS THE INDIVIDUAL FREEDOMS OF FLORIDIANS

What you need to know about Florida’s new legislation on COVID-19 Vaccine Mandates:

On Thursday, November 18th, Governor DeSantis signed a bill into law addressing President Biden’s unprecedented vaccine mandate, SB-2B COVID-19 Mandates. The new law does not outright outlaw vaccine mandates, but rather requires that employers offer five exemptions if employees do not want to be vaccinated. These exemptions include the following: medical, religious, an agreement to be tested regularly, “natural immunity” from COVID-19 with a medical test, or an agreement to wear employer provided equipment whenever around other people. To claim any of these exemptions requires an exemption statement, along with relevant information related to the exemptions. For example, a medical exemption requires a signature by a physician and natural immunity exemption requires the results of a valid laboratory test. If the employer receives a completed exemption statement, the employer must allow the employee to opt out of the COVID-19 vaccination mandate.

So, what happens if an exemption is not offered or your exemption was denied?

If that is the case, an employee may file a complaint with the Department of Legal Affairs stating that the employer is not properly applying the exemptions. If your employer continues to not comply with the law, they will be subject to fines. If you are terminated for refusing to get the COVID-19 vaccination by your employer and your employer did not offer exemptions, you are still eligible for unemployment benefits and reemployment assistance.

As for federal compliance with vaccine mandates, the law bans any state “government entity”, such as contractors and schools, from mandating employee or student COVID-19 vaccines. If your employer or local school is found violating this law, a fine is imposed. Furthermore, if you are terminated for refusal to comply with the mandate, like private employees, you are eligible for unemployment benefits and reemployment assistance.

This sweeping legislation protects workers from an unjust and overreaching mandate, allowing vaccination status of Floridians to be a personal choice. It protects the fundamental right of Americans to be able to make their own medical choices for what is best for their circumstances. We celebrate this monumental achievement for Governor DeSantis on behalf of Florida workers.
