Dear Partners,

The U.S. House of Representatives just passed the Build Back Better Act.

After months of hard work from advocates across the country, we are cheering this morning as we mark today’s critical step toward enactment of this transformative legislation.

Build Back Better is critical and historic legislation, especially in how it invests in the health of moms and their new babies, which has long been ignored. This is a landmark moment to ensure new moms and their babies are set up for a healthy lifetime, and to narrow longstanding disparities among new moms in Black, Latino and Indigenous communities through permanent CHIP funding, Momnibus provisions, and continuous enrollment.

And while we take a breath this morning, we know that there’s still work to do as we await Senate passage. We must leverage this moment to push Congress and the White House to get this bill signed into law as quickly as possible.
