Hi friend,

Earlier this morning, the House voted on and passed the Build Back Better Act! This is a big deal. We’re talking about a bill that includes over half a trillion dollars in climate action investments alone – making it by far the most significant national step our country has taken to address climate change and environmental justice.

To tell you the truth, I breathed a huge sigh of relief when I saw Speaker Pelosi raise her hand and announce that the bill had passed the House. The indomitable spirit and fierce advocacy of activists like you have gotten us to this point, and we should pause to think about what we’ve accomplished so far.

With volunteers like you, Conservation Voters of PA has hosted and participated in 17 events to show our support for Build Back Better, published or been quoted in 15 pieces in the press, and contacted our legislators over 3000 times.

From the bottom of our hearts, the whole team at Conservation Voters of PA and I would like to thank you for the role you’ve played in helping get the bill through the House. If it wasn't for your unrelenting advocacy, ranging from creating unique art pieces to show why climate action mattered to you to speaking directly to your Representative, the Build Back Better Act might not have passed the House. It is because of you that we will have a more sustainable, just, and equitable future.

As exciting as this moment is, this fight is not over yet. There is still a lot of work to do to get the bill to President Biden’s desk. We need to focus our attention on the Senate, which still needs to vote to pass the Build Back Better Act to reduce our country’s greenhouse gas emissions by 50% by 2035 and transition to 100% clean energy by 2035, to invest billions of dollars – 40% of the overall package – in helping Black, Brown, and low-income Americans who have been hardest hit by climate change, and to create millions of good-paying jobs.

Conservation Voters of PA is all in to ensure the Senate quickly seizes this historic opportunity to make life better for all people by passing the Build Back Better Act and sending it to President Biden's desk.
