Folks, earlier this morning, the House passed the Build Back Better Act!

I was proud to vote for this historic piece of legislation. It will provide universal access to pre-k, expand Medicare benefits, and extend the Child Tax Credit for another year -- pulling millions of children out of poverty.

On top of all of that, it will take meaningful action to combat the root causes of climate change through clean energy tax credits -- something I’ve long advocated for.

But passing this historic legislation wouldn’t have been possible without our Democratic House majority. Republicans have shown time and again that they’re more interested in playing politics than doing their jobs. Seriously, not a single Republican had the courage to vote for a bill that the majority of Americans want.

Republican House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy even threw a temper tantrum last night desperately trying to filibuster the vote -- going on an hours-long, nonsensical rant.

That’s why we can’t allow Republicans to take back the majority -- they’ll reverse all the progress we’ve made on behalf of working families, curbing the effects of climate change, and expanding healthcare.

Right now, our majority is razor-thin, and my seat is one of the National Republican Congressional Committee's top targets for 2022.
