John,
I'm thrilled to report that House Democrats just passed the Build Back Better Act. This legislation is now on its way to the Senate.
This bill is an enormous step for working families in this country, because it makes much-needed investment in people. It opens doors for parents and their kids by lowering the costs of everyday needs like prescription drugs, housing, health care, child care, and more.
The Build Back Better Act also makes historic investments in solving the climate crisis. It will make it less expensive to manufacture and buy electric vehicles and put solar panels on rooftops. It also ensures that the clean energy jobs of the future will be held right here in the United States. And the best part is, this bill is fully paid for by making big corporations pay their fair share.
When Americans were hurting from fallout of COVID-19, Democrats delivered emergency financial relief and investments through the American Rescue Plan.
Democrats delivered again when we signed the Infrastructure Deal into law that will generate millions of jobs while rebuilding and improving our transportation systems.
Now, we have made good on our promise to deliver the Build Back Better Act. But passing this bill was only possible because Democrats took the House in 2018 and held the majority in 2020. So to everyone who knocked on doors, made calls, or pitched in a few bucks -- this victory is yours.
The hard work begins right now, and I will do everything in my power to make sure the Build Back Better Act gets across the finish line in the Senate.
Thanks for standing with us.
Mike
