John: House Democrats just passed the once-in-a-generation Build Back Better Act — a key part of President Joe Biden’s agenda.
This groundbreaking legislation will be transformative for so many and make life easier for folks across Pennsylvania and our country. This bill will make a real difference in people’s lives — it will make child care universally available, it makes the most substantial investments in climate we’ve ever seen, and it will help make prescription drugs more affordable. And those are just a few examples. We’re one step closer to making all these policies that Val supports a reality.
Workers and families across our Commonwealth and country are counting on us to get these things done. They need a hand up more than ever. We need the Senate to bring it to a vote without delay.
The Build Back Better Act will build on the progress we’ve already made — including the billions of dollars in infrastructure investments to our Commonwealth to build roads, repair bridges, expand broadband, and create good-paying, union jobs right here in Pennsylvania.
Equally important to investing in physical infrastructure is investing in human infrastructure — helping our economy and country recover from the pandemic and moving out of the existing child care and climate crises.
