Dear neighbor,
This was a big week in Washington. The House passed the Build Back Better Act and President Biden signed the Bipartisan Infrastructure Bill into law!
I was pleased to vote in support of the Build Back Better Act, a once-in-a generation bill to lower the everyday costs that burden working families – from health care to child care and more. The bill is fully paid for by making big corporations and the wealthiest pay their fair share. House Democrats delivered by passing this historic bill and the Senate must do the same.
I was also honored to join my colleagues at the White House on Monday as President Biden signed the bipartisan Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act into law. This is a transformational law that will rebuild our nation’s crumbling roads and bridges and bring America’s infrastructure into the 21st Century – all while creating good-paying, quality jobs and tackling the climate crisis. I am grateful to President Biden and Vice President Harris for doing what the former administration couldn’t do: bring people together to pass an infrastructure law that will create a stronger future for America.
President Biden signing the Bipartisan Infrastructure Bill into law
The Bipartisan Infrastructure Bill addresses key priorities for California’s 33rd District. Under the law, California is expected to receive $84 million over five years to protect against wildfires. In that time, it’s also expected to receive $384 million to expand the Electric Vehicle (EV) charging network in the state. I’m honored to have supported this bill to benefit the people of California and its 33rd Congressional District.

Are you eager to see infrastructure improvements made in California?

COVID-19 Updates
Anyone 18 and older can now get a COVID-19 booster shot in LA County six months after the second dose of Pfizer and Moderna and two months after Johnson & Johnson. The LA County Department of Public Health is recommending that everyone who is eligible to get a booster shot do so as soon as possible as we head into the holiday season. For more information, please visit VaccinateLACounty.com.
Children ages 5-11 are eligible to receive the Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine. Getting your child vaccinated is the best way to protect them from COVID-19. If your child gets their first shot this week, they can be fully vaccinated by the holidays. For more information, please visit VaccinateLACounty.com or speak to your child’s doctor.
