This morning, the Build Back Better Act finally passed the House, and Cori was proud to cast her vote for this historic investment in regular, everyday people, families, and our future.
Cori has worked for months to ensure critical policies that will directly benefit Black and Brown Americans were included in the bill from Medicaid funding to support for home care workers. The text of her and Sen. Ed Markey's Environmental Justice Mapping and Data Collection Act made it into the final text and will help target funding to the communities most affected by environmental injustice.
No matter what stunts conservative Democrats or Republicans pulled – including GOP Leader Kevin McCarthy's 8-hour tantrum on the House floor last night – Cori kept working to see this bill through to the finish line.
The Build Back Better Act will not only transform lives — it will save lives. With its House passage, we secured an important win on universal pre-K, Medicare expansion, paid leave, climate action, and more.
