I joined President Biden at the White House for his first meetings with lawmakers after becoming president. He talked about his big, bold plan for rebuilding our country’s infrastructure.

Nine months later, after leading the Senate to pass President Biden’s infrastructure bill, I stood with the president at the White House as he signed our historic legislation into law.

This transformative investment in our nation will deliver:

The largest transportation package in U.S. history, it includes my highway and water infrastructure bills, totaling more than $390 billion in investments that will upgrade our highways, roads and bridges to make them safer, and will help deliver clean drinking water to American families.

It expands and improves internet access.

It includes legislation I fought for that tackles climate change, makes our infrastructure more climate-resilient, and ensures clean, safe drinking water.

And it will create good-paying jobs for American workers.

Unlike the previous administration, President Biden made a promise to rebuild our infrastructure and he delivered. He is focused on taking climate action -- not rolling back the progress we’ve already made. And he’s focused on building bridges -- not walls.

Monday was a great day for our country, and I’m so proud to stand alongside a president who is focused on the solutions our country needs.

Thank you,

Tom
