** AHS Celebrates Arlington Housing Leaders at the 2021 Bozman Awards

On November 14, 2021, AHS convened Arlington residents, housing advocates and leaders, and elected officials for the virtual 13th annual Ellen M. Bozman Affordable Housing Award ([link removed]) celebration. Together, we honored Arlington residents Elder Julio Basurto, Nina Janopaul, and Mary Margaret Whipple for their leadership in affordable housing.
Our honorees together exemplify the types of affordable housing leadership Arlington needs to ensure not just a sufficient supply of housing but good quality, well-managed homes that improve the lives of residents.

** County Releases RFQ for Crystal House Apartments
------------------------------------------------------------
Arlington is soliciting RFQ responses from experienced developers for a unique, affordable infill development opportunity on the Crystal House Apartments site. RFQ responses are due by December 1.
In the future, the Crystal House Apartments site in Pentagon City’s Aurora Highlands neighborhood will feature new affordable housing as part of additional master-planned infill development. There are 828 apartment units already existing on the approximately 16-acre site and the infill development is expected to add a net new 820 units to the site.

** County Releases Missing Middle Housing Phase 1 Final Report
------------------------------------------------------------
Arlington County has released the final version of Expanding Housing Choice: The Missing Middle Housing Study Phase 1 Report. The report discusses the community's priorities and concerns related to expanding housing choice and supply in Arlington and recommends housing types for analysis in Phase 2.
Phase 2 (a detailed study of housing types) will move forward with public feedback opportunities in mid-spring and an anticipated report by the end of the 2nd quarter of 2022. Phase 3 (the implementation) is projected to be complete by the end of 2022.
