John,
Big pharma and big insurance wield incredible power in the halls of Congress. Through intense lobbying efforts and direct and indirect contributions to candidates, they have successfully bent the political will of Congress to do their bidding.
That’s why we’re demanding that every candidate running for President in 2020 reject toxic contributions from industries that are exploiting seniors!
Senators Bernie Sanders and Elizabeth Warren have already taken the pledge. With the next Democratic debate just 10 days away, we need to keep up the pressure on the other 23 candidates!
Donate to Social Security Works today to demand that every Democrat running for president takes the pledge to reject campaign contributions from pharma and insurance industry executives, lobbyists and PACs.
In 2018, Democrats ran on and won on reforming our health care system―standing up to the industries that profit on the backs of the American people. We need to ensure that whoever the Democratic nominee is, that they stand with us to take on big pharma and big insurance and defend the American people against their unrelenting greed.
Even Donald Trump ran on reining in big pharma―only to turn around and appoint a predatory pharmaceutical executive to his cabinet.
This pledge is about more than any one candidate. This is about the corrosive influence of money that makes politicians of both parties serve corporations, not people. Democrats must lead by example and reject the money and influence that has for too long resulted in laws and policies that bankrupt U.S. families.
We have just 10 days until the next Democratic debate―if we keep up the pressure we can win!
Donate to Social Security Works today to keep up the pressure and demand Democratic presidential candidates take the pledge and reject campaign contributions from big pharma and big insurance.
Together, we’re changing the way we deliver health care in the U.S., putting patients’ health over the profits of greedy corporations.
Thank you,
Alex Lawson Social Security Works
