Democrats in the House are on a roll, delivering on President Biden's Infrastructure Plan last week and today passing the Build Back Better Act - a once in a century investment in the working families and people here in Virginia and across the nation. The Build Back Better Act will create millions of jobs while providing benefits that many Americans desperately need, while decreasing costs and putting more money in their pockets.

The Build Back Better plan:

• Guarantees Child Care and Pre-K, provides four weeks of Paid Family and Medical Leave, and extends the Child Tax Credit

• Closes the Medicaid gap, expands Medicare to include dental, vision, and hearing, brings down prescription drug costs and caps the cost of insulin at $35

• Invests More Than $500 Billion to combat Climate Change, creating hundreds of thousands of sustainable jobs that push our country towards a cleaner, safer, more environmentally just future.

This is a once in a lifetime opportunity to transform our nation and re-write the social contract, improve the lives of Americans and move towards a better future. In the coming weeks I know my Senate colleagues will pass this legislation into law.

Sadly, Republicans  used every trick in the book to try and block this momentous legislation and unanimously voted against it. 

As 2022 approaches, we need to make sure the American people know all that the Democratic majority has done to improve their lives - the American Rescue Plan, Biden Infrastructure Plan, and now the Build Back Better Bill.
