Earlier this month I traveled to the United Nations climate change talks in Glasgow, where Phoenix was recognized as an innovative leader in climate and sustainability. It was truly wonderful to see that recognition on a global stage. 



Here I am after just arriving to Glasgow and meeting with fellow mayors from around the globe.



 It was an honor to work with this group of women mayors on the Steering Committee. In total 1,049 cities came together to commit to net zero emissions by 2050.

 


 

I was proud to share our successes in water and energy innovation.


Just as we have led in innovations like cool pavement, we will continue to find new solutions that address water scarcity and drought. 


Thanks to your support, Phoenix has become a leading force in combating climate change and adopting strong sustainable clean energy policies. The breakthroughs made here will become the standard practices of the future.

I could not be more proud of the work we are doing that will inform the lives of the next generation, including my son.

We are growing the green jobs important to a sustainable future for the health of our city and for the families proud to call Phoenix home.
