I am proud to share with you that this morning House Democrats passed the Build Back Better Act. This transformational package creates an economy that works for everyone and takes on climate change so that there is a future for generations to come.

With the passage of this act, Democrats have taken action on:

Health care: By finally allowing Medicare to negotiate Rx drug costs, halting Big Pharma’s outrageous price hikes above inflation, and expanding the Affordable Care Act to make insurance more affordable, Democrats have not only increased access to health care, but also lowered costs across the board.

Families and childcare: This bill provides universal pre-k to all 3-& 4-year-olds, caps childcare costs for families, extends the expanded child tax credit benefits, and expands access to affordable home care for older adults and those with disabilities.

Climate: The Build Back Better Act makes the largest ever investment in combating the climate crisis by cutting pollution, reducing energy costs, and creating good paying union jobs to cement the U.S. as the leader of a clean energy global economy.

Importantly, the Build Back Better Act does this all without any costs to everyday Americans by fighting inflation and ensuring that big corporations and the wealthy pay their fair share.
