Friend, I just voted to pass the Build Back Better Act through the House.

I'm proud to support a historic piece of legislation that will make a real difference for families across the country. The Build Back Better Act lowers the cost of childcare, makes healthcare more affordable, and contains important environmental provisions to help us combat climate change and maintain a good quality of life.

We were supposed to pass this bill last night, but GOP leader Kevin McCarthy decided to give a marathon speech against it (over 8 hours long!). It's telling that he can muster up a lot more energy to oppose helping middle-class families than he can to denounce efforts to subvert our democracy or to condemn members of his caucus who threaten violence.

If McCarthy were in charge, there’s no chance that the Build Back Better Act would ever have passed. So we need to do everything we can to keep his party from capturing the House next year.

Will you chip in to my re-election campaign? I'm facing a tough fight, but with your help, I plan to campaign hard on what we've been able to accomplish -- especially when it comes to legislation like the Build Back Better Act.
