Community Group Spotlight: Good Companions ✨
*Did you know there is a befriending group that has been running in Clifton for over 20 years? *
Good Companions aims to reduce loneliness and isolation for vulnerable older people throughout Clifton, Silverdale, and Wilford through Home Visit or calls and their four weekly friendship groups.
Throughout the pandemic, Good Companions continued to support their users through telephone calls and regular friendship boxes. Working with other community groups, such as Summerwood Community Gardens, they were able to maintain links and connections throughout this time.
For more information, to sign-up to be a volunteer, or see how you can help in other ways follow them on Facebook [ [link removed] ]or contact them by email at

Green Lane Improvements
*Clifton East Councillors are happy to see the completion of Phase 2 of the carriageway resurfacing and road safety improvements on Green Lane. *
The introduction of the new pedestrian crossing will make the area safer, while the removal of the speed cushions will make road easier for cars. This latest phase provides easier and safer access to the Clifton Triangle site, and the main shopping area.

Don't get caught out this Christmas
Nottingham City Council’s Trading Standards team are asking Nottingham residents to be careful when buying presents for children:
* *Look for the CE or UKCA mark:* These symbols on the label or box mean the manufacturer has assessed the toy for safety
* *Button-batteries can kill:* Check they are screwed in firmly and safely before giving to a child
* *Check age restrictions:* Toys must be clearly marked with age restrictions - always follow them, they’re there for a reason
