Jack, when I became New Mexico’s Secretary of State, I knew I would be carrying a great responsibility. The right to vote is sacred. It is the cornerstone of our democracy -- that every single person who is eligible to vote gets to vote. I live by this principle as Secretary of State. It guides everything that I do.
That’s why I have fought for:
- Early voting.
- Easy access to the ballot box.
- Same-day voter registration.
- Mail-in ballots, especially while we are still in a pandemic.
My opponent thinks New Mexico should not have any of that. That should be very troubling to everyone.
Now more than ever, our democracy is in peril. We must fight to ensure that all eligible New Mexicans can exercise their right to vote.
