It’s been a big week, folks. Yesterday, I launched an Electrification Caucus in the House and Senate, alongside my co-chairs Senator Tina Smith and Representatives Kathy Castor and Paul Tonko. Together, we are lighting the way for a full clean energy transition in homes, vehicles, and businesses.

Electrifying America is one of the most meaningful, direct ways we can act on climate change.

That’s why it’s so important we make it accessible to every New Mexican and person in our country. Our first-ever Electrification Caucus will help advance policies to make that happen — cutting down energy bill costs, cleaning up our air, addressing the climate crisis, and creating lots of good jobs.

Thanks to the historic infrastructure bill, New Mexico is getting $38 million to expand an electric vehicle charging network. We’ll see even more benefits when we pass the Build Back Better Act and put money back into folks’ pockets when they install electric appliances in their households.

The Electrification Caucus will build on all this great work — bringing forward more policies to take on climate change, boost our economy, and insulate you from the fluctuating costs of fossil fuels. I’m counting on this grassroots team to power the hard work ahead.

Can you chip in any amount to build on this momentum and support our work to address climate change with the urgency it deserves?

Thank you. It will take each and every one of us doing our part to tackle the climate crisis.
