In an unprecedented move, 30 members of the 2020 North Texas RNC/Trump Victory team have signed a letter urging the President to support Chris Putnam in his challenge for Texas’ 12th Congressional District. The letter, addressed to President Trump, states “we were outraged when we heard Ms. Granger publicly calling for you to concede, the first House member to do so.” Granger missed the January impeachment vote claiming COVID, but also declined to vote by proxy or from the COVID designated voting area. The Trump staff go on to state “We’ve had ENOUGH of Ms. Granger, who's been in Congress since 1997, was never on board with you or the America First agenda, exploited your endorsement then stabbed you in the back.” Chris Putnam was one the most important volunteers the Trump campaign had, holding various rallies and events for the Trump team during the general election. After pointing out Granger’s track record of being a “Never Trumper” the North Texas Trump team make their request - “We are writing to you asking for your formal support of the REAL Trump/MAGA candidate for the Texas 12th Congressional District, Chris Putnam.” Chris announced his second run in September and outraised the incumbent in Q3. Granger has suffered at home having split from her base on the mayoral race in May and in an open dispute with city leaders over the boondoggle Trinity River Vision project overseen by Granger's son.
