NEWLEADERSCOUNCIL.ORG [NEWLEADERSCOUNCIL.ORG] [link removed] [[link removed]]Hi Friend,
After the final votes were counted, we're proud to share that more than a dozen New Leaders Council alumni won their state and local elections [[link removed]] . Congratulations to all who ran, all who supported them, and all the communities that will benefit from their leadership. We know that these local campaigns, no matter the end result, change the conversation about community-centered leadership.
NLC believes that building a more equitable world starts in our own communities. We need ecosystems of proximate leaders who center equity and build trust, reflect the communities they serve, and connect with others across identities, industries, and issues to make a collective impact.
HISTORIC ALUMNI WINS:

Congratulations again to our NLC alumni for their monumental wins. Whether they decided to run for office, worked behind the scenes on a campaign, or showed up at the polls to vote, one thing is clear: NLC alumni put their purpose to action [[link removed]] .
[link removed] [[link removed]]This is the power of NLC’s place-based networks. We are not only made up of tomorrow’s public servants, but those organizers, entrepreneurs, and non-profit leaders who support an ecosystem of leadership and shape our communities to build a more equitable world. But this continuous and collective progress requires investment.
Movements for social and political change don’t end on Election Day. While we celebrate wins today, we know that creating collaborative, community-centered leadership requires long-term work.
Right now, NLC’s chapters are preparing to welcome their 2022 Fellows. Through our annual six-month Institute, these 650+ changemakers will learn new skills, enter new networks, and build the confidence to become new leaders. Will your next school board member, city councilperson, or state legislator be among them?
Stay tuned next week when we announce the 2022 NLC Fellows in your community!
