Leaf collection program extended by one week
Final collection begins Nov. 29
The Village of Oswego will be extending the leaf collection one additional week for all collection zones. A third collection will begin for all zones the week of November 22 as scheduled. The Village's Public Works crews will begin a final pass through all zones the week of November 29.? Residents are asked to place all leaves at their curb by 7 a.m. on Monday, November 29.? Crews are currently working on Saturdays and overtime to pick up leaves as quickly as possible.?
Leaves are also beneficial for lawns, plant beds and around trees and shrubs as a more environmentally friendly approach to disposal. For complete details on the Village's leaf collection program, including the collection map zones, visit www.oswegoil.org/leaves
Collection alternatives Residents are strongly encouraged to use alternative options such as placing leaves in and around plant beds under trees and shrubs as this provide nutrients for the soil and provide insulation for the plants.?
Residents can also use Groot?s curbside yard waste bags and refuse collection program. The final week for yard waste pickup through Groot is the week of November 29.

Plus, catch live entertainment from Oswego?s dance troupes and choirs at three different live entertainment locations throughout the event along with DJ John, who always makes the event extra lively.
Then, bring your wish list and visit Santa at his North Pole home away from home, Locked In Photography, 74 Main St. where photos will be taken and made available for download.
At 8:10 p.m., make way for the silent, illuminated emergency vehicle parade down Main Street brought to you by the Oswego Fire Protection District and featuring your favorite characters, including Christmas Tree Rex himself.
