Dear {user_data~First name~friend},

A Mercy For Animals undercover investigator

[link removed]

recently documented the last days of a cattle herd in the United States. What we captured is heartbreaking and reveals the extreme cost of meat.

Cattle at this feedlot suffered in triple-digit temperatures, denied even basic shelter or shade. Some animals stood in water troughs, trying to stay cool.

But there was no escape from the unbearable heat.

Each day our undercover investigator spent at this feedlot, the lives of these animals seemed worse.

Their unnatural diet of grains, designed to make them grow faster, possibly caused many to suffer bloat, a painful buildup of excess gas in the stomach. Cows suffered organ prolapses after giving birth without proper veterinary care.

The bodies of animals who died were stacked alongside debris.

Those who survived

the extreme heat and unnatural conditions were forced onto hot trailers, shoulder to shoulder, and sent to slaughter plants, including one owned by JBS, one of the world's largest meat companies.

An electric prod was on standby for those who resisted.

Raising animals for food accounts for nearly 15 percent of global human-induced greenhouse gas emissions, and cattle make up the majority.

As global temperatures rise, suffering for many farmed animals worsens.

Join us in creating a more compassionate food system by holding JBS accountable

for the cruelty in its supply chain and boycotting this abusive, unsustainable system.
