Dear John,
Two months and one election into my tenure as Verified Voting’s President & CEO, it’s clearer to me than ever that this is where I need to be, at this moment – working for voters like you. And I need your support, so voters can have the justified confidence they deserve as we head into the challenges of 2022.
I see it more clearly, based on my career in international democracy and good governance, that the stability and security of America’s elections affects everyone, everywhere. And as election officials and voters alike struggle to navigate a climate of distrust fueled by disinformation, Verified Voting needs to be there to answer the calls for evidence-based assurance and information.
There’s so much to do, on so many fronts – connecting with election officials on the ground in small towns and major cities alike to prepare them for post-election audits, advising state legislators on the voting equipment and proposed measures that can make elections even more secure and accurate, and getting voters across the country the reliable information they need on the nuts and bolts of how our elections work. But like elections themselves, it starts with all of us working together.
Over the coming weeks, the Verified Voting team and I will be sharing more stories of the work we’ve accomplished together throughout 2021 and what still lies ahead as we ready ourselves for the 2022 midterms. Whether you’ve shared one of our resources with friends and family, looked up your jurisdiction’s voting equipment on the Verifier, or simply cast a vote, you’ve been and continue to be a vital part of our work to make our elections more secure and transparent.
