American Courage Award

Weijia Jiang ([link removed]) is CBS News’ senior White House correspondent based in Washington, D.C. Jiang’s reporting is featured across all CBS News broadcasts and platforms, including the “CBS Evening News with Norah O’Donnell,” “CBS This Morning,” and CBSN, CBS News’ 24/7streaming news service.

Jiang has shown tremendous courage in demanding truth and transparency. When President Trump began using terms such as "China virus," Weijia pushed back on the use of this xenophobic rhetoric during press briefings. She continues to bring tenacity to her questions and reporting and is an excellent representation for Asian Americans in journalism.

Changemaker Award
Accepted by: Emily May, Co-founder and Executive Director of Hollaback!

Hollaback! is a global, people-powered movement to end harassment — in all its forms. Hollaback! joined forces with Asian Americans Advancing Justice - AAJC to address anti-Asian/American harassment in the wake of COVID-19 and received a tremendous response to bystander intervention trainings. The trainings are now expanding to include several Asian languages. This partnership became a model for additional partnerships across various identities.

Bridge Builder Award

Accepted by: Thong M. Nguyen, Vice-chairman, Head of Global Strategy & Enterprise Platforms

Bank of America, a longtime supporter, has taken a lead on advancing racial justice in the banking and finance industry. They have provided significant funding for organizations who work on naturalization and allow for citizenship workshops to take place at their banks. They have renewed their commitment to invest in initiatives around advocacy and equality. And, recently, Bank of America's CEO spoke out against voting laws that restrict access to the ballot box.
