For a whole decade, the gerrymandered district maps that Republicans rammed through have enabled legislators to ignore the will of the people. With politicians picking their own districts, the incentive to compromise and get things done goes away.
That’s why I vetoed the outrageous new maps proposed by Republicans.
Their consistent attempts to weaken voting rights and stack districts are an attack on American democracy and our fundamental rights as Wisconsinites.
