Here’s what’s happening,
John:

For the past several months: Members of Congress have been debating back
and forth what investments we should make to deliver on the promises
Democrats made in the last election to lift up our communities.

Then this week: Joe Biden officially signed the bipartisan infrastructure
package into law. This will invest billions of dollars into our roads,
highways, public transportation, drinking water, and clean energy
infrastructure.

But we’re not pausing our work to celebrate just yet,
John. There is still so much work to be done
to address the unprecedented crises working families in our country
currently face.

That’s why today we’re renewing Cori’s promise to continue working toward
passing the Build Back Better Act. Cori knows that the bipartisan
infrastructure package alone does not address the most pressing crises we
face. That's why she voted against it, to maintain leverage and ensure
that she delivers on her promise: to do the most for all of us, starting
with those who have the least.

From paid leave, affordable housing, universal childcare, and tuition-free
college — Cori believes that these policies must not be left behind in our
work to truly make a real, meaningful impact on the lives of Americans.

It’s time to push for solutions that match the historic, urgent crises
working people face right now.

Cori and her progressive colleagues refuse to settle for anything less in
the Build Better Act than the policies we promised the American people.
Here in St. Louis we know that ‘settling’ is the reason why our
communities have been struggling for years. It’s why families are
struggling to keep their homes, children are going to bed hungry, and why
folks are going bankrupt because they can’t afford their health care
bills.

Cori is holding the line, but we're up against Big Pharma, the fossil fuel
industry, and corporations with millions at their disposal. This movement
is 100% people-powered which means we rely on gifts of $5, $10, and $25 to
fund Cori's transformative change-making and leadership, so we need to
ask:

[ [link removed] ]Will you please chip in $5 right now so we can continue
growing our momentum to pass the Build Back Better Act and finally deliver
meaningful, progressive policies for those who need them the most?

Together,

Team Cori
